Pear Tree Challenge and Contest

Posting the projects from the smART Cookie Challenge #2 to the smART website, was also one of those EOTM things for which I recently had to invest some time...

Cms09_peartree For this round of the challenge, the Cookies (Dina, Donna, Trish, Heidi, and Susan L.) had each been sent this set, and asked to create "something."

When all the finished results came back, I couldn't help but note how almost all the cards had similar layouts, but that each Cookie had employed entirely different techniques -- guilding, embossed vellum, gel pens, heat embossing, stitching, blended pencils, etc.  Hmmmmmm... it got me wondering, "Had I participated, what would I have done???"

Now, as with the last Cookie Challenge, I'm going to launch a contest, and give away one free set of "Pear Tree" rubber.  It's not only a fun thing to do, but it also allows one of you to contemplate the same question, "What would I have done?" And act upon it.

"Pear Tree" Contest Rules:
To participate, answer the following question by way of a comment, then Thursday morning (Dec. 6), before he leaves for school (7:40 a.m.), my eleven year old, Mr. Eli, will randomly draw one comment out of the proverbial hat.  The owner of the comment, wins the rubber.

The winning name will be announced right here sometime on Thursday (but since I also have to take my dad to the cardiologist that day, the post probably won't be made until evening.)

Here is the question:
Not that any of you actually do this, ~wink, wink, but supposing you did... What one stamping related Christmas present would you buy for yourself this year, and why?  Yes, you must narrow it down to just one, so think hard, wish big, and have fun.

Me would love a cuttlebug...so fabulous lil thing..

That's not a hard question at all to answer. My item would be a stamp cleaning system. I've been using soap and water as of now and it would be a great addition to my collection. Great question and a fun giveaway.

Every year when I make dozens of Christmas cards (many of them late at night), I realize I need better lighting. An Ott Lite is what I would buy myself for Christmas.

The one stamp related present I'd buy would be a couple of cassettes for my Cricut. Why? Because I already bought myself the Cricut for Christmas this year when I ran into a bargain I couldn't refuse on Black Friday:) Problem is, I have so many others to buy presents for, I can't afford any cassettes to go with my new toy.

I would "buy" someone to help me get my craft room organized!

I think I might wish for some Twinkling H2O's. I've never tried them but Dina just posted this gorgous card made using them!

I really want to get a set of the oval scalloped Nestabilities dies. I have to drop some more hints to hubby! LOL! Thanks for the chance to win this cute set!

What one big stamping present?
Well, I gues a set of copics--simply because I know it won't happen unless I win the lottery (and that won't happen because I don't PLAY the lottery).

BTW--this is a beautiful set!

Oh I think I would have to splurge on some distressing embossing powders. I really want to give those a try :-)

Hi, I think I'd like some of the new stamps sets I've seen out by (new to me) companies. They look incredible, more modern, sometimes easier to make a card in less than 2 hours! I can imagine your challenge with the pear tree, with just tiny gold pears on black cs for the background sheet, (either gold dye ink, or foiled), very delicate, then colouring the leaves and pear on image in bronze silver or gold metallic also. Thanks for the chance to win.

I would buy myself a zutter bind-it-all, those machines can do some fun stuff.

I would buy myself a new paper cutter. I am so frustrated with mine right now. I have my eye on a Tonic 12" Guillitine cutter. I have my entire wishlist on my blog too which is everything else I would buy for myself if I were buying for me this year. Which I most assuredly am not!

Id have to say I would buy a Crop a dile ...DOnt know why I dont have one yet ...heeheh I NEED it!!! Thanks for the chance !!

It's on my list... a Cuttlebug!
The embossed backgrounds are beautiful, and I could use it to cut shapes to use for my stamped cards.

Your design team really made this stamp set come alive! All of their cards were amazing. I would purchase some Copic markers. Hope your Father will get a good report!

I think this sweet stamp would look great do it like stain glass on a card. One thing I want is the cutting printer. I can't remember the name of it.
Thanks for a chance at your sweet giveaway.

I would buy every Penny Black stamp with a dog, cat or other silly animal. Oh heck-I would get the whole company

I love this set! How fun! I would love to spluge on some Bella Stamps. I don't own any yet and I am jealous of all those that do! :) I'm pretty sure that Santa (aka my hubby) will not be bringing my Bella gift certificate though, since he is pretty clueless on how much I NEED them!!

I would love a Cricut, to cut shapes to use on cards and scrapbooks.

I already have that set, but I want to tell you what I want for Christmas anyway....

I want adhesive! ATG 714 and rolls and rolls of adhesive!

I have a card to post too using that set. It also is very similar to the design team's cards. I think the shape of that set lends to certain layouts. I'll head back to my laboratory and come up with something different too.

I would have stamped in in gold on black and then used Pearl Ex to make it sparkle in pretty colors!

I would buy myself Nestablities for Christmas (answering your second question here).
