Pretty Poinsettia
The real poinsettia pictured at the beginning of my previous post was a recent, unexpected gift from someone in the local stamping community who, referring to my parents, simply said, "I've been where you are, and I just want you to know I feel for you..." How kind was that!?! I look at the beautiful blossoms several times each day, and they encourage me every time.
Besides encouragement this lovely gift gave me the opportunity to design a thank you card while playing with the new Combo Sentiments stamp set designed by Dina Kowal. I paired it with the older poinsettia images from the CMS-10 Poinsettia set, and had some fun.
The technique I used, although technically it may be more of a recipe than a technique, is a longstanding favorite, I call "Spot of Color."
Here's how you do it:
With the exception of one thing, or "spot," keep the card's color scheme achromatic (black and white). That's it! Looks great every time!
Additional Cardworks:
Versafine Black Onyx embossed with Transcendence powder.
Image colored with Prismacolor pencils.
Corner rounding punch used on upper corners only.
Basic layering.
Embellished with Blk/Wht Swiss dot ribbon.
Flower's center accented with yellow glitter glue.

This card has a very classic look! I need to pull out Dina's stamp set and use it. Thanks for the inspiration.
