After creating the red/pink "Tone-On-Tone" monochromatic card for Wednesday's T-party, my intent was to make a blue card using the same technique, but different images, post them together, and comment on what a versatile technique Tone-On-Tone happens to be...
Obviously, that didn't happen. But why?
Because when I went to stamp my background image in sky blue, lo and behold, the crackle pattern came out with strands of green in it. "Someone" put away a dirty stamp, then failed to stamp a test image on scrap before stamping directly on the card. For shame on both counts!
Unable to remove the unwanted green, I decided to simply add more. One of those, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em kind of things... I ended up with a small card (3.5" x 4.5") which I really like, but couldn't use as a mono-creation.
Again, the inks are Memories, but this time sky, blue, and grass. The background stamp is from the BG-13 Crackle set, the floral image from Cookie Plate #1, and the saying is from WD-38 Begin, Live, Enjoy.
I chose this particular saying because while creating, I was thinking about, and praying for those impacted by the horrific wild fires in Australia, and the devastating tornadoes in Oklahoma... I'm sure not one of the victims of these recent disasters got up in the morning thinking, "I won't be here tonight..." That thought in turn, reminded me that "now" is always a gift, and that if we're going to live the life God has given us in the abundant way He planned, we must first know Him, but then we must choose to live each day to the fullest.
Much to ponder,
P.S. The "dots" along the right edge of the card are the "holes" punched out of cardstock using a Martha Stewart border punch.
