Cut It Out

This week, Less Is More told everyone to "Cut It Out!" No, they weren't requesting any of us to cease some objectionable activity, they were challenging us to incorporate some kind of hole or aperture into a clean and simple card...  Oddly enough, when the challenge posted, I was already mid-designing this card for a swap:

Since it appeared to meet all the Cut It Out requirements I'm sure it could have been my entry, but a slightly different (and a little more involved) variation was rattling around the ol' brain, and I decided to give that one a go:

As you can see, both cards use stamps from Bundle Up and Winter Mix, but this variation elevated the navy layer -- creating a space between it and the card base...That combined with a layer of acetate across the cut out area and the insertion of "filler," and voila, a wintery shaker card!
