... for the first smART Cookie Tea Party of the season! I'm sooooooo excited I can hardly type!
Last week Dina, our hostess, posted this sketch challenge.
I like her layout a lot, so it turned out the most difficult part for me was choosing the focal image and text. Several combinations came to mind, and each was an entirely different style... cute... elegant... floral... hmmm... "Which way do I go?"
Then I remembered this tumbled tile coaster I made a few weeks ago, and I thought if I made a coordinating card, I'd have a wonderful little gift ensemble all ready to give someone special. Certainly couldn't pass up that idea, hence the route I decided to take:
Stamp Sets: ABC-Fresh Picked, ABC-For You, and BV-46 Phil. 1:3.
Ink: Black
Coloring: Markers for images, Chalks for backgrounds
Other:
Clear Embossing Powder (Transcendence),
Print Paper
Foam Tape
Glitter Glue (used on raised flowers and small flowers)
Dimensional Glaze
Notes of Interest:
*** A Stamp-a-ma-jig was used to stamp the partial row of flowers onto each of the three small squares.
*** Flowers/Leaves in the lower left of the main panel are cut outs.
*** Dimensional glaze was applied over dried glitter glue -- If you've never done this before, try it... The finished look is fabulous!
Coaster Details: Stamped in Brilliance Graphite black, colored with Sharpies, and sealed with 3 light coats of Krylon Matte Finish #1311. In addition to the ABC-Fresh Picked image, the coaster uses "friends" from the DK-05 Friends set.
So who else is coming to our debut tea? So far it looks like:
Cookie Dina at Mama Dini's Stamperia
Cookie Trish at Tah Dah!
Guest Designer, Giovana, at Believe - A Place To Praise and Craft, and
Catherine at Inksomnia
If YOU decided to party with us, remember to post a link either here or at Dina's place, so we can all take a look-see.
It's been a treat,
Susan T.
