On a leftover, praise the Lord note concerning yesterday -- The UPS man cameth! Also thought you might like to see what I ended up with for hubby's card:
It uses stamps from the FL-30 Leaves #1, FL-26 Leaves #4, and WD-231 Revel sets. What?!? Not familiar with that last set? Well, that's because it's from the next smART release. I already had my demo set trimmed and begging for ink, so just couldn't resist using it...
In answer to quite a few inquiries concerning that new release... Yes, there is one "in the works." It was originally expected to be announced/available by November 10, and all steps of the process were clipping right along... Things were going so well, in fact, they were ahead of schedule. I even had my demo set a couple of weeks sooner than anticipated.
Too good to be true? Yup. I started trimming my images and discovered one of the sheets had a major boo boo. Where did THAT come from? With a sinking heart I ran to check my original proof sheet. Completely clean! Whew!!!
When all was said and done, the problem traced back to the engravers. They own the error, and have explained a possible fix to my rubber pressers. If it works, we're all set. If it doesn't, then the entire sheet must be re-engraved... Enter poor timing -- the "fix" was suggested right when my pressers were packing up to head out of state for a three week stint on the convention circuit.
Now it's a waiting game, and you know as much as I do. The new release might end up ready on schedule, or it might not be here until December...
To be honest, I must tell you how disappointed I was when this unexpected, negative development came to light. It felt as if all the wind had been taken out of my sails! All those hours of work! All those plans! All on hold!!!
Being a firm believer in Romans 8:28 -- that "all things work together for good," however, I know there must be a reason for this delay... If nothing else, it has been a good reminder that anything and everything I do or have with smARTworks really depends 100% on God.
I'd like to add that in the four years smARTworks has been in business, this is the first time anything like this has ever happened. Quite a silver lining, don't you think!?!
